Santa Barbara Style: Wine Country Wonderland

Jul 19th, 2010 |

In case you missed this gorgeous wine country, inspiration table on Style Me Pretty we asked Event Planner and Designer, Joy Proctor of Joy de Vivre and Floral Designer Kelly Kaufman of Florette Designs if we could share their fabulous Santa Barbara Wedding style with you here.

Here is a little insider info about their inspiration from Joy:

Kelly Kaufman of Florette Designs and I set out to create a table inspired by the romance and charm of Santa Barbara Wine Country.  We wanted to keep the palate sweet but fresh, opting not to go with traditional wine country colors.  To create the vintage look, we hung three fabulous crystal chandeliers from LBPS Events, directly over our solid wood table, and chose decor that was antique and distressed. Kelly created romantic floral arrangements of garden roses, wild raspberries, hydrangeas, and delicate maiden hair fern, in white washed iron urns. Antique bottles held individual flowers adding to the vintage charm. We dressed the table in a beautiful antique lace runner, and placed clusters of mercury glass candle holders between the flowers. To keep the look charming yet rustic, I purchased some great stoneware plates and paired them with antique silverware.  We used a combination of fluer de lis glassware and light aqua water goblets, slightly reminiscent of aqua mason jars.

For dessert, we created a truly yummy sweets table, lined in mini flags cut out of wrapping paper in muted colors.  We served raspberry lemonade in mason jars with cute drink flags that read, “enjoy!” To keep with the vintage theme, we served salt water taffy in apothecary jars, cupcakes and mini bunt cakes from lace ceramic cake stands, and rock candy sticks were placed in mercury glass vases.

Rachel Korrey, Special Events Manager of Firestone Winery was kind enough to let us use their scenic Vineyard Mesa location for the shoot. We set up beneath a big, old oak tree overlooking the vineyard. The talented photographer Ian Grant captured it all in the beautiful images below. Enjoy!
