Santa Barbara County Courthouse Sunken Garden
The Santa Barbara Courthouse is one of the most photographed buildings in all of Santa Barbara.
Its also available for hosting wedding ceremonies. With its stunning architecture and landscaped grounds, it’s the epitome of Santa Barbara style.
There are several locations to choose from:
Sunken Gardens - This prime location can comfortably accommodate 200 guests.
Palm Terrace - Located on an upper lawn overlooking the Sunken Gardens. 125 guests.
Redwood - Located along stands of California Redwood trees, this location can accommodate 100 persons.
Fiesta Stage - 80 guests can be easily arrayed on and around the brick Fiesta Stage.
Giant Bird of Paradise - This corner between the Court wing and Old Jail wing is an ideal location for up to 50 people.
Rotunda Lawn - This area is tucked away below a spiral staircase with nearby Australian Tree Ferns and is a perfect area for up to 25 people.
Site fees range from $100-$500 depending on which location you pick.
Please note other weddings maybe going on in the courthouse during your reserved time slot and it is not closed to the public.
Some notes:
No drinks or food is allowed on the grounds
No signage for the wedding is allowed
Nothing maybe staked in the lawn
Either a coordinator or a friend needs to be present at the courthouse the entire time of your reservation
Candles are not allowed
No amplification is allowed
No birdseed/flower petals/glitter is allowed.
