The Santa Barbara Club is an oasis of tranquility in the heart of Downtown Santa Barbara. Formally established in 1892, it is the oldest Club in the city and believed to be the first social Club between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Designed by architect Francis Wilson, the historic Club offers a number of exceptional entertaining indoor and outdoor areas for weddings, receptions and rehearsal dinners accommodating up to 200 guests.
You enter the building thru an impressive rod-iron doorway into an inviting fireplace and a warm formal Lobby. The main dining room has a ‘glass wall’ that overlooks the lawn and outdoors. This wall can be opened creating a feeling of openess and al-fresco dining.
Down the hallway from the dining room, is a unique and inviting Bar & Game Room, complete with a seating nook and character. The darkwood features and decor takes you back to the turn of the century.
Next to the bar, the Lounge & Card Room houses a baby grand piano and the Library which contains volumes dating back to the 1800′. Each room enjoys a spacious fireplace and turn of the century ambiance.
A particularly enchanting area is the Club’s terrace and garden. The lush and expansive lawn in the back of the club is well manicured and private. Adjacent to the lawn, is an intimate terrace which exudes charm and character.
The downtown venue, is a discreet building close to State Street that provides a luxurious, timeless setting renowned for its Wine Country cuisine and exceptional service.
Enjoy epicurean delights prepared by Club Chef Kim Schiffer, who encompasses the finest of the season by incorporating farmer’s markets “local, seasonal and fresh”. Complement her creations with the many distinctive regional wines of the Santa Ynez Valley and nearby appellations.
This is a Ceremony and Reception or Reception Only Venue.

I’m pretty sure if you’re online reading a wedding blog, you’re already familiar with the crafter-vintage-shopping mecca called Etsy. It’s a great resource for wedding accessories, dresses, etc. (which we will re-visit in another post soon) but today I wanted to explore the vintage side of Etsy. With so many destination weddings in Santa Barbara every weekend I thought it might be fun to explore some of the fun and funkier Santa Barbara “Souvenirs” that are available. Enjoy and happy shopping!
Who knew that there was a Santa Barbara tablecloth out there?!
Oh yes, and napkins too. . .
Maybe a bedazzed pillow with a vintage image of the Coral Casino?
Perhaps you’re more of a vintage t-shirt fan. How about a Joe’s Cafe shirt?
Of course there is always paper, perhaps for that first anniversary? Vintage postcards and wonderful vibrant old crate labels are great to frame for artwork as unique keepsakes of a special place. . .
This isn’t necessarily vintage but I thought it was a unique Santa Barbara souvenir . . .
I could go on and on but you get the idea . . . there are a ton of fun and interesting items available with a simple “Santa Barbara” search on Etsy.
