You might remember our post a few months back “Carved in Wood” featuring Lazaro Press & Design’s wooden, save-the-date postcards. This time I would like to share another great idea from Lazaro Press & Design using the laser cut wood concept to create a unique and meaningful favor for your guests. I love this card for Katie and Phil’s wedding with an intricate illustration of Stern’s Wharf and the Santa Barbara waterfront on one side, and and a beautiful quote by George Eliot on the other.
Santa Barbara based, Lazaro Press & Design created these darling, custom save-the-dates for Victoria and Justin. Each announcement was uniquely printed on a vintage, lace-trimmed linen handkerchief and delicately wrapped for mailing on a coordinating card with a tiny lock or key. I just love this inviting design with a dash of vintage charm. . .
Bride- and Groom-to-be, Cally and Dan, wanted to invite their loved ones to “save the date” for their wedding in a fun and sophisticated style. We at Lilly & Louise designed an illustration that seemed perfect for their upcoming nuptials. As Dan is from Vermont, and Cally is from Santa Barbara–where the couple will marry– a simple knot connecting the two states would tell the story simply and sweetly. Bakers’ twine was the perfect material for the metaphor–the stripes give it a fun, whimsy touch– while white and coral was foil stamped onto a rich charcoal grey paper, a fitting, sophisticated background.

Lazaro Press gave it a slightly vintage feel and created a custom monogram that was incorporated into an old-fashioned postcard heading. What a fun, personal, and perfectly Santa Barbara save-the-date. Congratulations to Meryl and Andrew on their upcoming wedding!
Young Love: save-the-date cards
Often when planning a wedding and considering stationery, a Save-the-Date card can be a fun way to express the bride and groom’s playful side, while saving a more formal look and feel for the wedding invitation and wedding itself. In this particular Save-the-Date card, we recall a time of young love, when guests of honer and guests may [or may not] have scribbled love messages on their book covers (or carved into trees, swoon!)
With a kraft-like paper as our canvas, various playful typefaces and a rich, coral ink, this card promises guests that if they save the date, this event is sure to be a blast!
