With her professional experience and a lifelong adoration for design and hosting, Irwin knows what it takes to seamlessly plan a flawless event, which is why we asked her to share a few pieces of advice as well her own favorite experiences to create.
Q - What is your favorite location where you prefer to plan client weddings? What is the style that makes this location special for couples?
A - I love outdoor ranch and winery venues in the Santa Ynez Valley that offer various possibilities rather than predetermined areas for the ceremony and reception. There are so many beautiful venues in the valley that serve as backdrops that can adapt to any style rather than determine the style of your wedding.
Q - What is your #1 top piece of advice you give to couples before they hire you?
A - Do your research for venues and vendors. Visit several venues and keep an open mind! Check out Instagram/social media to see vendor’s latest work and get inspired. I also strongly recommend interviewing your vendors before you commit to a contract.
Q - What is trending with your couples?
A - Now, more than ever, many of my clients want to make their wedding day more of a seamless simple, yet beautiful, celebration and less of a production/traditional wedding.
Q - What are 2 things you wish couples would do for every wedding?
A - Have a clear vision or understanding of your dream wedding and be able to establish trust by keeping open communication throughout the planning process.
Q - To date, what wedding have you planned that made the top of your favorite list, and why?
A - This is so hard for me to play favorites! Many of my favorite weddings have been the ones that I have created a strong connection and trust with my clients to make their daydreams come to life. None of my weddings have been the same and my clients all have their own style and personal details. The ones that are my favorite are the ones that are open to design details that are true to their style but also reflect my aesthetic.
