From FM Events:

“If people were rain, then I was a drizzle and she was a hurricane.” - John Green

They say rain on your wedding day is good luck, so when we saw rain in the forecast, we knew it would be a good day! Tucked back in the countryside, the air was static and the storm was rolling in as we arrived at The Dana Powers House, but the atmosphere made our edgy, yet romantic style come to life. Inside the barn was perfectly lit by vintage chandeliers and thoughtfully strung cafe lights with natural light pouring in through the window pane wall.

The bride wore handmade earrings and a ring set by local jeweler, The Gold Concept, while Twig and Arrow Salon styled her hair with a simple, yet elegant look that had a touch of edge.

The invitation suite and escort cards were designed by Prairie and Sage, the copper brushstrokes keeping them artistic and bold. Designed by Flourish, the ceremony backdrop was surrounded by lanterns with carnations strung to the ground creating an inviting space for saying “I Do.”

Mixed Events whipped up classic cocktails like an Old Fashioned and Pomegranate Martini at the bar station outfitted with textiles from Blush Fine Linens. While the local Talley Vineyards Chardonnay was a refreshing beverage of choice for the couple.

Layered in lush linens, Embellish Vintage Rentals provided the sweetheart table and chairs topped with vintage votives and sprawling floral arrangements. Dark stoneware from All About Events added a moodiness to the tablescape. The lounge, also provided by Embellish Vintage Rentals, was positioned in front of large windows so the colors would pop against the dark sofa and white butterfly chairs.

Chef Nick Nolan of Society Cuisine created a gourmet menu of cocktail snacks including soft-boiled egg crostini, grilled cheese and tomato basil bisque, and golden puff pastries. For dinner, he chose an heirloom carrot salad, Mary’s chicken under a brick, and grilled hanger steak. The dessert bar, provided by S&O Dessert Co, included a beautiful cake with gold foil accents and was accompanied by mini profiteroles and tartlets.

Behind the scenes, Forever Rooted Films captured every moment by film. Braving the stormy day was just part of the fun and we were happy to dance in the rain and get a little mud on our boots (and maybe the dress too).
