From the Bride:
I always dreamed of getting married on a beach with my toes in the sand. When we got engaged and agreed on a destination wedding, Trey said he really wanted to get married in the mountains! As a compromise, we settled on Santa Barbara – mountains on one side, beach on the other. The first time we visited Bacara Resort & Spa, there was absolutely no question! From the gorgeous Spanish Colonial style throughout the resort, to the stunning view from the bluff where we would get married, it was perfect!
Being in Texas, we hired a coordinator. When I met Armando Martinez with Alegria by Design, I knew we had nothing to worry about. He was able to turn my vision into a reality and referred me to the best of the best vendors in Santa Barbara. Our wedding day was above and beyond our wildest dreams! There was not a single thing we would have changed. One of the great things about a destination wedding is a smaller guest list. We had a very intimate wedding with 65 guests, those nearest and dearest to us.
On August 1 while it was in the 100’s in Texas, it was 70 degrees and sunny in Santa Barbara. We chose to have our ceremony at 5 o’clock in the afternoon so that we had the whole evening ahead of us to party! And party, we did!!! Everyone says that you blink and it’s all over, and that could not be more true. I am so grateful for our photographer, Michael & Anna Costa, and our videographer, C2R Productions, for capturing every minute so that we can always look back and cherish the memories of the greatest day of our lives!
