This cultural landmark located in the heart of Santa Barbara’s historic district elicits the romance of early Spanish California.  The Santa Barbara Historical Museum’s grounds are perfect for large receptions and ceremonies or special occasions. The interconnected courtyards are distinguished by native and exotic landscaping accented with splashing fountains. For more intimate events or added space, the property also offers the Penthouse (a 2nd-floor boardroom w/ensuite), and the Casa Covarrubias (one of the city’s oldest buildings, built in 1817).

Capacity:
up to 750 guests

Areas:
Three Outdoor Courtyards (up to 750 guests), The Casa Covarrubias Adobe (up to 75 guests), or The Penthouse Boardroom (Up to 20 guests)

Restrooms:
Over 250 guests requires rental of restrooms

Bridal Dressing Room:
A private room is included in the rental fee

Requirements:
Certain vendors must be chosen from a pre-approved list.

Refundable Cleaning/Damage Deposit, Event Insurance, and hiring of a professional Coordinator required.

Time Allotments:

The rental time is six hours from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm.

The grounds open at 9:00 am for vendors, unless prior written arrangements have been negotiated 30 days in advance

All vendors must be off-site by midnight to avoid overtime fees.

Catering:

Self-catering is not permitted. No on-site kitchen facilities are available.  Rental of kitchen necessary. All bar and food service tables AND satellite kitchen space in parking lot require bar mats and/or tarps for grease.

Parking:

Onsite parking is limited to Museum staff, gallery visitors, and event satellite kitchen. Parking is available nearby after 5pm Mon-Fri, or any time Sat-Sun

Music:
Amplified music and live-bands are permitted.

Power:
20 amp circuits are located throughout the Site. Additional energy is available from two theatrical panels; please contact Rental Coordinator to arrange.
Electrical generators are prohibited.

Alcohol Policy:

The client provides alcohol, which must be served by an approved Bar Vendor

What is Provided:

Fees include a Museum representative the day of your event and use of the grounds, including 4 restrooms and a bridal suite. A professional day-of coordinator is not included but is required.

Insurance:
Certificate of Insurance covering $1,000,000 general liability (naming the Museum as additionally insured), and a list of your vendors is required 60 days prior to the event.
