Terracotta Meets Boho in This Modern Wedding Design from Ann Johnson Events
With over 20 years in the event industry, wedding planner Ann Johnson is a seasoned expert in her field. Additionally, as a Santa Barbara native, she understands how to showcase and take advantage of the all the city’s unique idiosyncrasies in her stunning wedding designs. And, she’s done just that yet again in this boho styled shoot photographed by Heirlume Photography.
Staged at the Foxen Canyon Ranch, this event is filled with warm and neutral colors and gives rustic a modern makeover. The wedding invitation suite set the tone, in shades of light pink, tan, and grey, and the color scheme was carried out throughout the entire event—seen in the rose-focused floral arrangements and in both the ceremony and reception.
The ceremony was of course set up on the lawn under a century-old oak tree. Styled bride Claire wore a high-neck vintage-inspired silk wedding gown and the groom David was dressed up in a tailored tan suit. Colorful cocktails were served up by the bar, and for hors d’oeuvres, charcuterie displays were abundant and small snacks were also presented in paper cones. And, Ann Johnson’s eye for design really came out in the reception tablescapes. Terracotta was involved in more ways than one. Plant pots in the material served as the table number signs and terracotta coasters were also used. Burnt orange bowls and napkins sat on top boho round placemats and both orange and grey-tinted glassware also adorned the wood tables.
The Chef’s Touch barbecue food truck was parked at the venue for dinner. And, a geometric two-tier wedding cake was also on display on the lawn underneath a set of wicker lanterns hanging outside.
