Turn Up the Wedding Music - An Interview with City Connection

City Connection Entertainment & Productions is one of the most respected companies in the industry providing the most talented musicians and entertainers in LA for events of virtually any size. With over 30 years of experience, the company knows how to streamline the planning process and exceed your expectations with a high-energy live entertainment experience you won’t soon forget. The company also has talent to fit any wedding or event style from Latin and classical music to country western and tribute acts.

City Connection’s owner and founder, Sal Kuenzler, took a minute to share a little bit more about the company’s music specialties, advice for couples planning their wedding music, and his personal favorite songs to hear at weddings.

Q - What is your music specialty?

A - Having been a professional musician, touring and recording with major artists throughout my lifetime has given me great insight to music and most importantly the reaction of an audience. Couple this with years of experience with weddings, we take a clean canvas and create a masterpiece for each couple to cherish the memory of bringing friends and family together to share a special moment.

Q - What are your thoughts about scheduling a dance set between cocktails + dinner? Yes or no, and why?

A - In general it could be a great idea to have dancing after the ceremony and cocktail hours. This lets people know we are there to have fun tonight. It should include: A grand entrance (to include or not include the bridal party) and a first dance followed by opening up the dance floor for guests to join in on the fun. It might be best to keep this dance set rather short followed by any toasts and dinner.

Q - What is the #1 advice you give to couples planning their wedding with you?

A - Take your time to weigh some of your major choices. After all you are creating a memory that will last a life time.

Q - What is your favorite first dance song, and why?

A - A first dance song should reflect a couples’ feelings for one another. There are numerous songs to choose from. The song should be in the style of the couple. For example, some songs have emphasis on the lyrics, some are very dynamic, others are simple but demonstrate deep meaning.

Q - What is your favorite last song, and why?

A - We like to end the evening with a song where all the remaining guests can circle around the couple then go into a strong last up tempo song to close the evening. Two classic songs that start slow then crescendo to up tempo and with a major musical production are Donna Summer's "Last Dance" and Journey's "Don't Stop Believing".
