Wedding Advice with Joseph Brant Films

Owner of Joseph Brant Films, Joe Mahany, creates amazing wedding videos that allow couples to relive every detail and emotion of their special day over and over again. We recently asked Joe to share what he’s learned from his time in the wedding industry and give couples tips on how to get the most out of their wedding day experience.

Q - What is your favorite location where you prefer to plan client weddings? What is the style that makes this location special for couples?

A - My absolute favorite locations are those with the ocean near by. There is something special about capturing a couple in front of such a vast beauty. It is so special for couples because 99% of the time it is an incredibly beautiful day and when you couple the beauty of the ocean with the sunset: it makes for some of the best post ceremony golden hour shots.

Q - What is your #1 top piece of advice you give to couples before they hire you?

A - Get lost in the day. You only get your glorious wedding day with your loved one once: don't worry about the video, I have it covered, just embrace the experience and enjoy yourself.

Q - What is trending with your couples?

A - People LOVE the cinematic style when watching back their wedding day. I have couples tell me all the time, "OMG it's like we are watching a movie of our wedding day and reliving the entire experience!"

Q - What are 2 things you wish couples would do for every wedding?

A - Speak from your heart and get lost in the emotions during your vows. It's amazing what can happen when you get to witness true love manifest during a ceremony. When a couple is so lost in their own love and they speak from the heart, it allows the viewer to really feel the emotions the couple is experiencing in the moment.

Q - To date, what wedding have you planned that made the top of your favorite list, and why?

A - My favorite thus far had to be Jordan and Christina's elopement day. Because it was just the 3 of us it allowed me to take my time and really focus on capturing only their love.
