Beyond the Wedding Cake - Life is Sweet, Dessert First!
Last month a talented group of wedding and event culinary geniuses hit the sweet spot by hosting a "Life is Sweet, Dessert FIRST!" open house. Lele Patisserie, Jessica Foster Confections, Tondi Gelato and Welcome Coffee Cart showcased their delectable desserts and superb sweets, which bring uniqueness and interest to any wedding or special celebration. Thank you to The talents of Kristen Beinke Photography for capturing this candy coated afternoon. Below is inspiration for some out-of-the-cake, exceptional dessert ideas couples can include in their wedding day, engagement party, rehearsal dinner or special weekend.
Lele of Lelé Patisserie used her classic French Pastry School training to create beyond the wedding cake, beautiful and delicious works of art, including popsicle cake bars, tiramisu, panna cotta, assorted cupcakes, strawberry shortcake and other mouthwatering munchies.
Jessica of Jessica Foster confections offered a plethora of handmade gourmet chocolate truffles, caramelized almonds and other indulgent chocolate creations. Whether ordering a gift crate for out of town guests, truffle boxes for wedding dinner favors, a chocolate truffle dessert station or a s'mores bar, Jessica is sure to get guests sweetly salivating over her delicious hand made sensations.
James, owner of Tondi Gelato scooped authentic, refreshing, made-from-scratch Italian gelato from his custom cart. All delicious, each flavor he custom makes is dairy free and contains no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. After a meal with friends and family, in lieu of or addition to any of the above desserts, the gelato cart is a new, fun, and incredibly delicious addition to couples' celebrations or weddings.
To complete the culinary experience, June, owner of Welcome Coffee Cart brewed custom javas, each made to order from her state-of-the-art La Marzocco named Fran. Offered with a variety of accompaniments such as coconut milk, almond milk, or the traditional whole milk, this machine and station is not only a show, but it is sure to also perk up guests and get them to boogie down on the dance floor!
Thank you to David Segall for bringing ambiance to the afternoon and strumming his solo acoustic guitar for the unique setting.
Thank you to Brenna from Pink Elephant & Co. for collaborating and sharing her design and creative talents to create a fun and festive balloon installation.
