Location Spotlight: The Villa at Sunstone Winery

Location Spotlight: The Villa at Sunstone Winery

by: Felici Events

We blogged about the beautiful French-countryside style Sunstone Winery a while back. Recently, the winery opened up the adjacent Villa for events.  Fred and Linda Rice designed and built a house from which to watch the four seasons that will become even more beautiful with age, a living piece of history.

The Villa has five suites, each with private entrances and a view of the Santa Ynez mountains and Sunstone vineyards. A bit of moss is beginning to grow on the stone at the foot of the front door. Nature is putting its own mark on the Villa, as was intended.

Reclaimed materials, such as French limestone, hand-formed roof tiles, a fireplace from the Bordeaux region of France, enormous hand-hewn pine beams from Queen Victoria’s lavender factory, a prison cell door from Normandy constructed during Napoleon’s reign, and a thousand-year old limestone kitchen sink were all incorporated into their dream building. Walking through the Villa is an opportunity to see and touch pieces of history.

Available to rent partially or in its entirety, the Villa is a stunning location to stay the week-end while enjoying a week-end of events.

Experience “a little bit of heaven” in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. Cielito, derives from the Spanish word “cielo” which means sky or heaven.  Cielito, the diminutive, is a term of endearment comparable to sweetheart or honey.

This upscale Mexican restaurant, located in La Arcada Mall, offers a dynamic and grand space for private events ranging from a small intimate gathering of 8 to an entire buy-out for 200.  It allows for a special event space that can fit around your needs for your next reception, rehearsal dinner, engagement party or gathering.

The menu features freshly made “antojitos” (small cravings) which reflect Santa Barbara’s local ingredients and seasonal produce. Cielito also offers a mouthwatering Tequila bar with enticing libations and innovative cocktails as well as a wide selection of Tequilas and Mescals.  In addition to an extensive list of artisanal tequilas and mezcals, the majestic antique bar also offers a dynamic wine list with choices form the central Coast and around the world, carefully selected to pair perfectly with the cuisine.

Chef Ramon Velazquez showcases his passion for classical Mexican and Latin American cuisine using the highest quality, seasonal ingredients from the land and sea. whether on the sun drenched patio, or in the sophisticated, vibrant dining room, the food at Cielito restaurant shines.
