I have to confess that this post is coming from my latest personal obsession.  Recently I have discovered the little luxury of the “what’s old is new again” trend of having my hair washed and blown dry at the salon.  The Shine Blow Dry Bar specializes in just this and only this. Their first location opened in Montecito over a year ago but has been so popular that the owners recently opened second location on State Street just behind Anthropologie and Peet’s Coffee, in the picturesque 1129 State Street courtyard.

For a standard “Blowout” it will run $35 but comes with champagne, cupcakes, and pampering with luxury products.  Their beautifully designed space is clean, bright and contemporary.  In addition to their standard services they offer bridal and bridal party packages and even as I was there they were holding a special meeting to discuss how all staff should be working with these special bridal parties.  There is different pricing that goes along with brides and bridal parties.  For current pricing you will want to check the website as they are booking quickly for the upcoming season.

For any special event or occasion this is a great way to pamper yourself. Think, bridal shower, engagement party, or just date night–but be forewarned, it’s addictive!
