The Carrillo Recreation Center is a large, unique red brick building located in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. With several large rooms, indoor and outdoor areas, and a historic brick exterior, the Carrillo Recreation Center is suitable for all types of events.

There is a quaint semi-private courtyard is centrally located with access to several rooms.  This space is ideal for cocktail parties, outdoor lounge and potential ceremony.  You can rent trees or reed fencing to create complete privacy.

The following rooms are available for rental based on the size and type of event being held:

Ballroom- The Carrillo Ballroom showcases a showy dance floor. Its spring-loaded maple dance floor moves under every step, preventing injury and reducing fatigue. A favorite for all dancers, from swing to ballroom. This facility also includes a stage and balcony.  This space is perfect for a dancing crowd!

Founders Room- This room is located next to the Carrillo Ballroom and provides a social gathering area which allows food and beverage.This room is usually rented in conjunction with the ballroom due to noise considerations. Unlike the ballroom, this room is fully air-conditioned.

Dance Studios- This downstairs dance studio features hardwood floors, mirrored walls, ballet bars and air conditioning.

Meeting Room- This carpeted meeting room includes a console piano and air conditioning and is centrally located in downtown Santa Barbara. This room is ideal for groups fewer than 50.

This is a Ceremony and Reception venue.

Site fee:
There is a $3200 base rate to rent the entire ground floor (including two patios) for an 8 hour time block. There is an additional $100 fee for access to the tables and chairs on site. There is also a cleaning fee following the event, based on the amount of cleanup required.
Capacity:
For the ballroom, the general rental capacity varies based on the event. For a reception, the capacity is 400, and for other special events, the capacity is up to 550 guests.
Areas:
The Carrillo Recreation Center has several large areas available for rental. The largest is the ballroom, followed by the founders room, three dance studios, and meeting room.
Restrooms:
Restrooms are on site.
Bridal Dressing Room:
There is no designated dressing room, however, the rooms chosen for rental can be converted to accommodate the needs of the party.
Time Allotments:
Rental time for events is 8 hours.
Catering:
Catering is not provided, but is allowed on site.
Parking:
There is street parking available both on Carrillo and neighboring streets. There are also two nearby city parking lots that require a paid fee.
Music:
Music is encouraged, but not provided. Amplified music is also permitted in the ballroom and founders room.
Alcohol Policy:
Alcohol is allowed by permit.
What is Provided:
Depending on which rooms are rented, the Carrillo Recreation Center provides an A-V projection screen, baby grand piano, stage, dance floor, mirrored walls, TV monitor, and an excellent downtown location.
Decoration:
Decoration is not provided, but the space allows for creativity and opportunity to make each event its own.
Cancellation Policy:
There is a 10 day courtesy hold for the date of the event. After 10 days, there is a $300 nonrefundable deposit required to continue to secure the date. The remaining balance is due the first day of the month before the rental.
