The Armory

The Armory is a historic, unique venue located across from Santa Barbara Highschool on Canon Perdido St. near downtown Santa Barbara. Personifying Old Spanish Style, the Armory’s past use as an army base gives it a distinct look not found in other locations in Santa Barbara. Its heavy wooden doors, high ceilings and antique rod-iron light fixtures lend character to its striking features. The open recreation center like auditorium  includes a stage and is quite large, allowing up to 1200 guests for a stand up cocktail event and 700 for a seated dinner. The Armory’s simplicity acts as a blank canvas for any type of event from a ceremony to a reception to a cocktail party. This tapestry allows any creative concept to be utilized, making this a perfect venue for creative brides and planners to do something imaginative.

Pricing: $ site fee,
$40/hour from time of set-up until vendors leave the premise.

Capacity: This large venue accommodates 732 guests for a seated dinner, and up to 1200 (capacity) for a cocktail-style reception.

Areas: One main recreation center-type room (approximately 100 ft. x 250 ft.)

Restrooms: Available on site

Bridal Dressing Room: No

Requirements: $250 refundable cleaning fee deposit, accompanied by an approved application. $150 per day for venue staff. 2 security guards provided by client. Must rent generator. All rentals, including caring need, client must provide (tables, chairs, china glass etc.)

Time Allotments: No restrictions based on availability.

Catering: Client must hire professional certified catering company. All kitchen equipment must be rented.

Parking: Available on site.

Music: No noise restrictions because it is an indoor venue.

Alcohol Policy: Client must provide own alcohol.

Decoration: Most decoration is okay, as long as there is no nailing or restructuring of the building.

Insurance: $1 million policy, required.

Cancellation Policy: Non-refundable deposit is forfeited.
