Santa Barbara Style: Save the Cork!
With so many opportunities to have a spectacular wine country wedding in Santa Barbara I was recently pondering some new possibilities for using recycled wine corks for wedding decor, with some local wedding peeps. Of course there is always the trusty DIY place card holder or Table Number holder that we have seen many times – nevertheless a great idea – but there had to be more out there!
After some exploring on Etsy Tracy from Lazaro Press & Design dug up these little gems which are available for purchase, but would also be a great project for some resourceful DIY Bride or Groom. Each cork has a tiny magnet on one side and holds a living succulent. What a wonderful, eco-chic favor for your wine country wedding. Thanks Tracy!

Also on Etsy, I found these great oversize monograms crafted from recycled corks – adorable

Delving into the “next-level” recycled-cork inspiration, brings us this gorgeous lighting fixture – a seriously more advanced project, but imagine the beautiful golden glow of light through all those corks!

So the next time you are polishing off a bottle of wine with dinner and go to toss the cork in the trash – just pause to imagine the possibilities, and save that cork.

GREAT idea, love it – almost as much as I like wine!
